Medical Audio-Transcription is a growing and popular career choice in the Australian healthcare industry. This is a highly rewarding role in the medical industry which involves transcribing verbal medical notes into text, and can be an incredibly satisfying and well paid career.
Wesley offer a Certificate of ‘Medical Audio-Transcription‘ to grow the knowledge and skills required to become a Medical Audio-Transcription or Medical Typist. Subjects covered include medical terminology, patient records, confidentiality, audio-typing, medical letter formatting and production, keyboarding skills and Microsoft Word essentials.
The Certificate is a part of BSB30120 Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration). Conditions of entry apply *keyboarding skills of 40 wpm to take the elective.
Keyboarding training is also offered as part of this Qualification to improve speed and keyboarding skills.
BSB30120 is an Online course. The course is self paced and also supported by live iTutorials by our industry leaders.
The Accredited Certificate course is a hands-on course and students will have access to transcription software (student version)and keyboarding software. Experienced Tutors are available by email and phone to support your studies! A double certificate will be issued, a Qualification BSB30120 plus a Certificate in Medical Audio-Transcription for students taking the elective.

Students have 12 months to complete the Qualification, however, the course is self paced and students can complete earlier.
Students will require access to a computer, printer, Microsoft Word and the internet.
Price : $2200
Students will need to establish a typing speed of a minimum of 50 wpm to achieve their Certificate of Medical Audio-Transcription. Students will have access to Wesley’s Online Portal ‘Keyboard Professional’ for up to a period of 12 months to develop skills in speed and accuracy. A year 10 Standard of numeracy and literacy is required to complete this course.

I started this course in February and completed it in March. I loved the fact that I could still work my part time retail job while studying. The course was fantastic with a great mixture of theory, group discussions and practical delivery.
